This St. Benedict Medal is two-sided and can be hung on a wall, door knob, above your entry door, or even on the Christmas tree. The St. Benedict medal is gold and features red and black enamel. The hanger is made up of red and bronze faceted glass bead accents on an adjustable red cord. The Saint Benedict medal includes a large cross surrounded by the initial letters of a Latin prayer of exorcism against Satan. Throughout his lifetime, St. Benedict's love for the Holy Cross became a miraculous tool that he used to fight Satan and make him flee. The St. Benedict medal was first struck in 1800 to commemorate the 1400th anniversary of St. Benedict's birth. The Saint Benedict medal is used to invoke God's protection and blessing through the intercession of his faithful servant, Benedict.
